Our History

Our clinic was originally founded nearly 5 decades ago with the intention of providing excellent eye care to the surrounding area. In 2001, Dr. Shawn Moore purchased the successful practice and set about making it his own without straying from the practice’s core goals: superior eye care and customer service.

Though we’ve already moved once in 2010, Orillia continues to grow. In February 2017, we moved the practice again; this time, just down the street from our old location. Recently, Orillia Optometry has extended opening hours into the evenings to cater to professionals who can’t quite make it to an appointment before 5 o’clock.

Our Philosophy

At Orillia Optometry, we believe that outstanding professional eye care extends beyond eye examinations and frame selection. Our customers deserve to walk into a friendly and welcoming environment with the expectation of superior care. Our trained staff understands the importance of maintaining broad product knowledge while staying up-to-date on best eye care practices.

We seek to educate our patients on maintaining eye health and improving vision. Without the proper knowledge, patients can’t make informed decisions about eye care. Of course, we are always happy to provide personalized recommendations and action plans. Our patients have a right to truly understand the basics of eye care.

An Office with Conscience

At Orillia Optometry, we are proud to support initiatives that make a difference, not only locally but nationally and internationally as well. That is why we have partnered with the following organizations:

  • Orillia Sharing Place Food Bank
  • The Foundation Fighting Blindness
  • Cycle for Sight
  • Neema Child Project

At Neema Child Project, we provide free eye exams and free glasses if needed to orphans from Uganda.
